A Celebration of Patriotism and Community Spirit
St. Simons Island, GA, will be bustling with excitement on the 4th of July, a vibrant celebration of patriotism and community spirit. As the island gears up for this cherished holiday, locals and visitors alike will be eagerly anticipating a day filled with festivities and fun.
The day will kick off with the 40th annual Sunshine Festival 5k and 1-mile run. This family-friendly event is from 7:00 am to 11:00 am and is held in Kings Park near the Village area. Check out the Sunshine Festival website for registration and more information.
As the sun begins to set on the 4th of July, a spectacular fireworks display will illuminate the night sky in a dazzling array of colors. The fireworks will begin at sundown around 9:00 pm. Admission is free and parking is free. Bring blankets and chairs and gather near the St Simons Island Pier and Village. Be prepared to “Ooo” and “Ah” the moment the first spark ignites the sky.
